Beckett & Raeder, Inc. was retained as site consultant for the Community. A result of our involvement was the preparation of plans and specifications for the construction and installation of a pre-fabricated walkbridge and nature trail.

The City of Grand Blanc is located in Genesee County, south of Flint, between US-23 and I-75. In 1981 the City purchased approximately 137 acres of property known as Grand Blanc Commons, for the use of passive recreation. The park grounds are enhanced with dense, mature vegetation, and an open drain known as Thread Creek flows through the park. The addition of the walk bridge and nature trails provided ease of pedestrian access into the park grounds.

The plans were bid by the City with construction completed in the Fall of 1991. A majority of the project costs were covered through a grant provided by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
